Brittni performs with CARLOS SANTANA

&nbsp;Carlos so graciously spent time with Brittni prior to the show and asks her if she'd like to perform with him Samba Pa Ti, a recording she did on her &quot;Brittni&quot; album. &nbsp;
She was floored -- one of her dreams had come true. &nbsp;
Performance was at the Blaisdell Arena on February 26, 2013.

&quot;Brittni Paiva with Tell U What has her musical stock as an arrow pointing straight up............&nbsp;Five stars and a smile&quot;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <a target="_new" href="http://www.criticaljazz.com/2012/06/brittni-paiva-tell-u-what-bpmcd-2012.html?spref=tw&amp;m=1">CriticalJazz

&quot;....this album could be Paiva&rsquo;s introduction to Scott&rsquo;s world-wide audience and become her formal debut in jazz circles.&quot;&nbsp;&nbsp; <a target="_new" href="http://www.honolulupulse.com/music/island-mele-scott-guides-paiva-on-jazz-journey">StarAdvertiser

&quot;....Paiva knows how to turn up the heat and turn on a dime as this is wildly different that her past outings. With a youthful, non-pomo vibe, her take on the form is a welcome tonic. This is summer evening listening that's right for any time, any time of the year. Well done.&quot;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <a target="_new" href="http://midwestrecord.com/MWR503.html">Midwest Records&nbsp;

New CD releasing July 10.

&nbsp;After months of working hard on the new CD, here it is. &nbsp;

This new record is something that I've ever only imagined! I'm so excited to experience my favorite genres of music and be able to feature the ukulele as a lead instrument in genres and styles like these. I hope that you enjoy this new journey with me through music on my ukulele!

I am so blessed and honored to have Tom Scott produce this record. Working with such a legend has been a wonderful experience and I am forever grateful. Thank you, Tom, for believing in me.

Here's a message from Tom Scott: &nbsp;

While performing in Hawaii last year, a young lady sat in with my band--on ukulele! Not exactly a common instrument in the jazz world! However, by the age of 22, Brittni Paiva had already made a name for herself locally with 4 self-produced CD's. The performance she gave that day on the uke was truly stunning! She had a keen melodic sense and rhythmic feel, exuding great confidence--and knew how to make that instrument 'sing' in a way I had never heard. She was a huge hit with the crowd--and I was totally hooked. From that point on, things progressed quickly. I wanted to feature her talents in a new setting--and corral some of my friends to help out. We recruited some of the best musicians on the planet--Michael McDonald, Arturo Sandoval, Ray Parker, Jr., and Chuck Findley--to appear as special guests. The result is something very unique. I am proud to have produced this project and, along with Brittni, hope it brings you as much joy as it has given us.

FAME review

Living Ukulele

A review written for the Folk &amp; Acoustic Music Exchange
by Mark S. Tucker
(progdawg@hotmail.com).

When PR guy Mike Bloom turned me on to the phenomenal Jake Shimabukoro, I found my access point to Hawaiian music and thus discovered a number of very satisfying musicians from the paradise island, especially leo ki'eki'e (falsetto) singer and ukulele player Uncle Richard Ho'Oppi'i (who appears here to comment on Paiva), one of the world's vocal maestros. Then came another Jake, this time in female flesh, Brittni Paiva&hellip;or so it seemed, but in Paiva, one quickly discerns how the ukulele can be as subtly attuned to the player's personality and artistic bent as any other instrument..........&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; READ FULL ARTICLE&nbsp;AT&nbsp;<a href="http://www.acousticmusic.com/fame/p07648.htm">www.acousticmusic.com/fame/p07648.htm.

MidWest Record review

DVD

BRITTNI PAIVA/Living Ukulele: There&rsquo;s a lot of reasons why this is the greatest documentary ever made, but the biggest reason why is because they quote me right on the front cover, first of all the quotes. When you consider that Hawaiian ukulele music isn&rsquo;t our long suit here, we spotted it all the way over here in the frozen Midwest that she was the bomb long before she was recognized as Hawaii&rsquo;s entertainer of the year for 2011. A dandy look at the girl behind the music, she&rsquo;s one of those child prodigies that was interested in something other than math out there along the Pacific Rim, and she shows that at 21 she still approaches things as a fan while still being every inch the pro. A great introduction to Paiva, this is a treat well worth checking out when you want/need something out of the ordinary to really free your ears and mind. Well done.
